On the very steep trail up to the finish line Petro Mamu showed his strength and he won in the new record time of 46:45,8.
But also, the second placed Italian Francesco Puppi and the third placed Austrian champion Manuel Innerhofer were still faster than the old record.
In the lady’s race, there were no doubts about the victory of Andrea Mayr, the number one in the world of mountain running.
In excellent 54:07,1 she was more than 3 minutes ahead of the German Monique Siegel and another 3 minutes of the third placed Alexandra Hauser from Austria.
About 200 runners from 14 countries finished the Muttersberg race pushed by hundreds of spectators along the course.
2017WCBludenzpodiowomenA big applause to the organizer Hubert Rödhammer and his team for a well-organized race and a perfect price ceremony with the World Cup winners in the focus.
Hubert Rödhammer was disappointed that only less top runners were present in Bludenz.
One explanation is for sure that on the same day and also next weekend some national championships will take place.
WMRA Council member Wolfgang Münzel attended the event and was very impressed by the carrying-out of the event.
