Contract signed for 2018 World Mountain Running Championships

16/10/2017

This past weekend, WMRA Secretary Tomo Sarf visited Andorra to meet with the Local Organizing Committee and the Andorra Federation to review the proposed course for the 2018 World Mountain Running Championships and to sign the contract. With these details in place, planning is well underway to celebrate the 34th running of the championships on September 15, 2018 in Canillo, Andorra.

Located in the Pyrenees, Andorra boast more than 300 days of sunshine per year with 90 percent of the country in natural areas making it an ideal venue to host the championships.

Signing the contract on site in Canillo, was a representative from the LOC as well as the Andorra Federation president Bernat Vilella.

Details will soon be available on the entire program. In the interim, plan for Barcelona as the arrival airport for teams, and see below for some basic information about the course. The inset photo is in the middle section of the course.
