It is difficult to see anyone beating Jonathan Wyatt (NZL) who continues his remarkable unbeaten run in uphill mountain races. The 11km/1300m climb course is his territory and he already leads the Grand Prix standing with two victories.

The race for second place will be interesting with Marco Gaiardo (ITA) under pressure from Andrezj Dlugosz (POL), Alex Bolkjovitin (RUS), Roman Skalsky and Robert Krupica (CZE) and Georges Burrier (FRA).

The women race over the same course as the men making this one of the tougher of the Grand Prix races. The outcome is more unpredictable than the mens race since both Anna Pichrtova (CZE) and Martina Strahl (SUI) face each other for the first time this year. It is Anna’s first Grand Prix race of the series, but Martina already has two wins so it will be a crucial contest. Anne Buckley (GBR) leader of the Grand Prix rankings, having competed in all three races to date, will be hoping to consolidate her leading position for the time being. Challenging for the minor places will be Anna Frost (NZL), Victoria Wilkinson (GBR) Sarah Tunstall (GBR) and Eva Milesova (CZE)
